The 2025 edition of Transport.ch confirmed Cryotrucks’ role as a reference point in cryogenic refrigeration for sustainable transport.
At the company’s stand, visitors could explore the CryoKit system installed on an Iveco eDaily electric van, a real-life demonstration of zero-emission and highly efficient technology.
Thanks to Cryotrucks cryogenic refrigeration technology, the vehicle demonstrates how the cold chain can be maintained efficiently and with zero emissions.
While traditional diesel refrigeration systems generate noise and exhaust gases, the Cryotrucks vehicle operated silently (below 50 dB), showing how liquid nitrogen refrigeration can deliver high performance with no CO₂ or NOx emissions.
Operating temperature is reached within minutes, with a cooling capacity of 7,000 W and a cooling rate of up to –1 °C per minute, maintaining stable thermal conditions throughout the cold chain.
The CryoKit system requires no compressors or mechanical energy from the vehicle engine: the entire cooling process takes place using liquid nitrogen supplied by Messer, in an open and controlled circuit.
This approach eliminates vibration, reduces component wear, and significantly lowers maintenance costs — offering operators a simple and reliable alternative to traditional diesel units.
