Cryotrucks was founded in 2005 as a European consortium to develop and promote the use of liquid methane (LNG).
In 2011, the first LNG/CNG distributor was opened.
The consortium was dissolved, and Cryotrucks continued through one of its partners, Esametal, which acquired it to develop new cryogenic technologies. A startup was established to design, develop, create, and patent a liquid nitrogen cooling system, with the highlight being the construction of the first aluminum cryogenic tank.
In 2022, the system received ATP certification equivalent to traditional systems.
